FEMME FATALES OF MUSIC

Record producer Russell C. Brennan is very much into femme fatales and film noir. He specialises in producing female acts (amongst his 450 or so releases) and feels they often have a Femme Fatale quality, so this seemed like a good concept for an album, so two have been release so far. Some are familiar names and some are less well known as he always likes to champion new talent. Also, if he is keen on a female singer, who he thinks deserves more recognition he will feature the occasional track not produced by him.
The tracks not produced by Russell are My Man by country star Patsy Peters (who is on our sister label) and the other are 2 tracks One For My Baby & The Man I Love by a definitive Femme Fatale with form - Ida Lupino. Ida was a Hollywood star who hailed from South London and played many memorable Femme Fatales in the '40 & '50s (opposite Humphrey Bogart, George Raft and other leading men). She was also talented in other areas including singing, and Russell believes her vocal performance on One for My Baby is the one of the best vocal performances by a female artist. With her Femme Fatale credentials he just had to her best two tracks on thees albums.
Russell championed female singers long before it was fashionable. He hopes many hidden gems will be found on these albums. He has however decided to do only three volumes and the final one will be out in Summer 2024.
