BEYOND THE TWILIGHT ZONE- BOX OFFICE POISON

When this debut album was released critics said. 'Each track throws you into a 3 minute epic and makes you feel like you've experienced the subject to each song. Lyrics go from the extremes of being homeless, having sex with an alien, time travel, saving the world or passing from it, through to the more mundane emotions of everyday life, such as divorce, drugs, alcohol abuse and the general pressures of living in general(not too many love songs here!). You could conceivably say it's like `virtual reality' for the soul, as well for your ears

The style of music the band do is a new music genre of 'Pop Noir', which has a Jazz/Punk Attitude, a Classical Ambience, Hypnotic Grooves, Gritty or Sexy Lyrics and a Filmic feel. The band dont use guitars and Punk Cello is the main instrument.

Prior to the album two single releases made a decent impact. The double A-Side Checkmate hit the top 1o D.J dance charts in the Uk and the other side pop song '1995' was championed by top cred D.J Gary Crowley as well as topping the college radio charts where one D.J called the music 'A Hurricane of fresh air'. International magazine 'Zabadak' called it best single of the decade.
Checkmate is due to be re released soon because of the new Urban Street Chess Craze. The second single 'Mysteries' is also penciled in as the main theme for a film called 'K-Time'. The latter single is also considered the bands masterpiece. Other noteble tracks are 'Backstreet Boulevard' due to be used in a documentary about the Homeless and Magic Lyric won best international poem in 2003. New versions of 'Think for yourself' & 'Alien' went on to become future singles. So you could say this album is full of strong songs.
